1) General safety notes

Our support agents often get reports about hacked WordPress and Joomla
accounts. There are also cases of hacked Typo3 installations and other PHP
software.

The hacking of an account or a software can have different reasons. The two
most common reasons are too simple passwords or missing software updates so
that vulnerabilities cannot be closed.

EUserv's security team urgently recommends, if you use such a PHP software,
check at least once a month if any software updates are available and also
perform the update. WordPress for example, already has an auto-update
feature, so that an update can be implemented very easy and fast.

Further check your used password and change it regularly.

As far as your webspace contract supports it, please use encrypted SSL
connections (https: //) to your login area.

2) Server-News: New Storage-Server with SSD's "Filer L SSD v4"

At this point we want to indicate the youngest extension of our Storage
Server Series "Filer"!

We have admitted the "Filer L SSD v4" in our product portfolio. With the
recent release of the pre-configured software RAID10, the server is very
performant on the I/O side.

In general, the server is based on a Supermicro platform of the server
"Filer L v4" but equipped with 4x 500GB fast Samsung SSD's instead of the
standard hard drives.

3) Support-News: Create Email addresses under Subdomains

EUserv customer panel now supports adding Email addresses under a
subdomain.

If you use an EUserv domain, mail or hosting plan, you have the possibility
to create an Email-Alias under your subdomain.

Example:
You have registered the domain "domain.xy". Now, you want to create an
Email-Alias (mail address) not only for the main domain (eg
"info@domain.xy"), but also for one or more subdomains, so that you can
send and receive emails with your subdomain "info@sub.domain.xy".

Our brnad new wiki guide shows how to create an Email-Alias for your
subdomain: http://go.euserv.org/4R
