2) Server News #2: Expansion USB Flash Drives for dedicated servers to 128GB and 256GB

EUserv provides the opportunity for each server customer to expand their root servers via an external USB Flash Drive. These USB Flash Drives are now also available with a storage capacity of 128GB and 256GB. The Flash Drives are directly connected to each customer server via the available USB ports on the motherboard. This is possible - depending on the server - with up to 4 USB Flash Drives per server. Thereby data can be created outside the server disks on a fixed storage medium, eg, for the configuration of a Re-Install.

More information and an overview of our USB Flash Drives can be found here:

3) Server News #3: Fedora 21 available

Fedora 21 ("Server" Flavor) is now available for automatic installation via the customer panel for all root servers. We offer the new release as minimal image and VNC Install with graphical installation wizard.

With Fedora 21, a division into three different applications ("flavors") is released. "Workstation", "Server" and "Cloud" (the latter offers a minimum configuration without a graphical interface ) are at choice. Basis for the new release is the kernel 3.17. As default file system, ext4 is still used. The switch to btrfs will probably be a done deal with Fedora 22.

The "Cockpit Management Console" - developed by RHEL and Fedora - is new and provides a web interface for remote administration of a server. This fits into the already existing Systemd (version 215).

Features:

- MariaDB version 10.0
- Systemd 215
- "Kubernetes" to administer Docker containers
- Python 3.4 / Ruby 2.1
- gcc 4.9

4) Support News: New Wiki guide "How to set PHP values via htaccess file"

If you have a hosting plan at EUserv without access to the php.ini file, there is still the possibility to set PHP values via a .htaccess file. The following guide describes in easy steps, how to set PHP values via a htaccess file.

The guide can be found here:
