1) Server News: FreeBSD 10.1 available for dedicated servers

The Unix derivative FreeBSD 10.1 is now available for installation on dedicated servers. In addition to the standard installation the live system is also available in the EUserv customer panel.

As main features, FreeBSD 10.1 comes with autofs(5) as new automounter. Other new features include updates of many packages, including OpenSSH, Sendmail, OpenPAM, OpenSSL or the package management tool pkg. Moreover, FreeBSD 10.1 dominates UDP-Lite in network transmissions via both IPv4 and IPv6. In addition, the Bhyve-Hhypervisor now supports booting from ZFS File
Systems.

According to the developers FreeBSD 10.1 will be maintained till the end of 2016.

Features:

- support for automatic integration of file systems with autofs(5)
- updated OpenSSH, Sendmail, OpenPAM, OpenSSL and pkg
- Bhyve-Hhypervisor supports booting from ZFS File Systems
- support of SMP in ARMv6 kernel

2) Mail News: EUserv customer panel update allows Greylisting administration

With the latest update of the EUserv customer panel, it is now possible to manage the Greylisting function for incoming emails. All MailDomain and Web Hosting plans with email boxes are supported.

What is Greylisting?
When greylisting the first delivery of an incoming email by an unknown sender is rejected. A real mail server usually leads from a second delivery, which is then accepted. The following three parameters are stored for the Greylisting administration:

- sender address
- recipient's address or recipient domain
- IP address of the sending mail server

Advantages offered by the process are:

- less spam that must be processed by following filters
- the Greylisting only blocks junk mail, viruses, worms and Trojans
- normal emails will not be blocked and will not get lost

Greylisting is always active by default. The new customer panel function enables the shut down of the Greylisting - function in favor of a faster email delivery.

3) Support News: New EUserv Android App Update enables activation of Rescue System

The latest update of EUserv´s Android App to version 1.3.6 allows the activation of the Rescue System for your active server contract. Via a user-friendly interface you can select the desired server and choose between different Rescue modes. You can choose between "Standard", "vKVM", "Linux 32/64 bit", "BSD 32/64" and "Windows".

Among other things, you can now see if a server is in the Rescue Mode and also in which one. Another advantage is that you can access your backups in case of hardware failures at any time.

In order to use the App on your smartphone or tablet an internet connection and at least Android version 2.1. is necessary.

The App can be downloaded for free in the Google Play Store: http://go.euserv.org/7E
