Post by: katrinateuserv on May 23, 2014, 05:33:32 PM
Hello,

from now on , the virtualization platform Proxmox VE 3.2 can be installed via the EUserv customer panel . A standard and a RAID1 version (both in LVM) are available. The new release is based on Debian 7.5 with kernel 2.6.32- 29- pve.

Proxmox VE 3.2 provides primarily updates to the underlying virtualization and storage architecture. So Qemu is now in version 1.7.0 and the distributed storage system glusterfs in version 3.4.2  available. Regarding to the storage (initially as a Technology Preview) Ceph server and a new ZFS plugin are offered. To be abled to make installations on virtual hard drives larger than 2.2 TB, the ISO installer now uses GPT (GUID Partition Table) instead of MBR as default.

Furthermore, the support for Open vSwitch (also as a Technology Preview) is being pursued. Some drivers for network interfaces and RAID controllers got updates (which includes e1000, igb, ixgbe, netxtreme2, megaraid_sas and the Broadcom drivers bnx2/bnx2x).

More features:

- Ceph Server and Open vSwitch Support (Technology Previews)
- Qemu 1.7.0
- Emulatable SCSI controller : pvscsi (VMware) and lsi53c810
- Support for paravirtualized NIC ' vmxnet3 ' (VMware)
- Improved integration of SPICE

kind regards,
Katrin
