« on: August 21, 2015, 05:51:38 PM »

Hello,

The Unix derivative FreeBSD 10.1 is now available for installation on dedicated servers. In addition to the standard installation the live system is also available in the EUserv customer panel.

As main features, FreeBSD 10.1 comes with autofs(5) as new automounter. Other new features include updates of many packages, including OpenSSH, Sendmail, OpenPAM, OpenSSL or the package management tool pkg. Moreover, FreeBSD 10.1 dominates UDP-Lite in network transmissions via both IPv4 and IPv6. In addition, the Bhyve-Hhypervisor now supports booting from ZFS File Systems.

According to the developers FreeBSD 10.1 will be maintained by the end of 2016.

Features:

- support for automatic integration of file systems with autofs(5)
- updated OpenSSH, Sendmail, OpenPAM, OpenSSL and pkg
- Bhyve-Hhypervisor supports booting from ZFS File Systems
- support of SMP in ARMv6 kernel

The entire operating system list can be viewed at

kind regards,
Katrin
