2) How to cope with new Top Level Domains: .HOLIDAY

Holiday season, vacation time! EUserv wishes you and your family a lot of fun during your summer holidays. Experience have shown that many users like to blog about their holiday impressions on the road. So what do you think of  complementing your generic Domain like .DE with one of the various new Top Level Domains (nTLDs)?  With these new TLDs, the (indispensable) domain extension develops to a creative part of finding a suitable domainname. New Top Level Domains provide opportunities to vary and try different domains - Subject-specific, trade-specific or with a regional context. Due to vacation time EUserv provided some interesting suggestions how to cope with your personal .HOLIDAY Domain:

 [VORNAME]-[NACHNAME].holiday

Check domain availability here:
http://www.euserv.com/en/domain/domain-search.php?domain_name=[VORNAME]-[NACHNAME].holiday

 [VORNAME][NACHNAME].holiday

Perhaps you have also offer holiday homes for rent or operate a guest house? Then separate from your competitors with an internationally understandable .HOLIDAY Domain. What do you think of:

 ferienhaus-[NACHNAME].holiday

  pension-[NACHNAME].holiday

3) Support News #1: DENIC is warning of Fake-Emails with malicious content

Currently, German language e-mails  with a forged from-address, allegedly from info@denic.de, are being sent. The e-mails claim to be acknowledging a domain transfer. The e-mails can be identified by the German subject "DENIC eG – Domain-Transfer Bestätigung" in combination with the from-address info@denic.de.

These e-mails are not from DENIC. The attached ZIP-file contains malware. Do not open the attachment!

DENIC published a corresponding warning on its website:
https://www.denic.de/en/whats-new/

4) Support News #2: General safety notes for E-mail-account and password
   protection

Our support agents often get reports about hacked WordPress and Joomla accounts. There are also cases of hacked Typo3 installations and other PHP software.

The hacking of an account or a software can have different reasons. The two most common reasons are too simple passwords or missing software updates so that vulnerabilities cannot be closed.

EUserv's security team urgently recommends, if you use such a PHP software, check at least once a month if any software updates are available and also perform the update. WordPress for example, already has an auto-update feature, so that an update can be implemented very easy and fast.

Further check your used password and change it regularly.

As far as your webspace contract supports it, please use encrypted SSL connections (https: //) to your login area.
