Hello,
The Linux distribution SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) 12, specifically geared to corporate customers, is now available and can be installed via the customer panel. After licensing, SLES 12 provides appropriate support and a long-term maintenance phase of 10 years; Service packs and module updates are expected every 18 months.
SLES 12 focuses on ext4 and btrfs by default. With "Snapper" an additional tool has been introduced that creates automated snapshots of the root file system. This allows a return to well-defined states of the system after failed updates or other critical system changes. Gnome 3 is now used as desktop.
The installation itself is done graphically via VNC. This means that the partitioning, software selection, and other settings can be made individually.
More Features:
- GNOME 3 as default desktop
- official support for btrfs and ext4
- Aautomatic Snapshots with "Snapper"
- 60 day test license after registration available
- long-term support
Note: SLES is a licensed operating system. A 60-day evaluation license is available after registering the installation. For more information, see
