1) Server News #1: New dedicated Server "Filer M2 v4"

2) Server News #2: New dedicated Server "Misurfi LC15"

3) Server News #3: OpenBSD 5.8 available for dedicated Servers


OpenBSD 5.8 is now available for all dedicated servers for automatic
installation. In the new version the hardware support was further expanded.
The new version comes with drivers for IBM CPC945 HyperTransport Bridges
and drivers for USB and Flash on OpenBSD/octeon- systems. Many hardware
drivers have been updated, too.


The new release also includes improvements of the network stack and
supports, among other things, the allocation of the same network areas
based on priority lists. Moreover, the security of the base system has been
increased. So OpenBSD 5.8 relies on doas instead of sudo. File(1) was
replaced by a modern implementation and pax, tar and cpio have enhanced
security mechanisms. In addition, OpenSSH 7.0 and LibreSSL 2.2.2 were
attached.

Note:
The OS is not running on all platforms so during a Reinstall it´s conducted

4) Software News: New App Update enables VPS administration via
   Android Smartphone

With the update of the EUserv Android app to version 1.3.9 it is now
possible to manage your hosted EUserv VPS.

With the App existing VPS contracts as well as the details of the selected
contracts can now be displayed. These include configuration, software and
hardware data of the VPS and the status of the VPS such as IP, the
installed operating system and the Rescue status of your device. With that,
it is possible to determine whether the installed operating system is
supported or the Rescue mode is active.

Furthermore you can now easily and at any time reboot your Server via your
smartphone, if it is not responding or if a scheduled maintenance is
imminent.

For Domains there has been involved the function of a DNS Restore: If you
are logged in to the Android App and own a domain, you can restore your
website, which is, for example, unreachable due to incorrect DNS records,
easily and comfortable to the default settings.

In order to use the app on your smartphone or tablet an Internet connection
and at least Android version 2.1 is required.

5) Security News: Critical Vulnerabilities in WordPress


Currently there is a warning about critical vulnerabilities in six popular
plugins for WordPress!
According to the communication of security experts of the Wordfence Fast
Secure Contact Form there are security vulnerabilities in version 4.0.37
and older, Bulletproof Security .52.4, the Blubrry Power Press podcasting
plugin in version 6.0.4 and earlier, Form Manager 1.7.2 and older,
WordPress Files Upload Version 3.4.0 and earlier and Crony Cronjob Manager
0.4.4 and older.

For all these plugins, there are upgrades that close the security
vulnerabiilities. If you use these plugins, an update is strongly
recommended.




6) Support News: Availability of the EUserv Support during
   holidays

We would like to point out that EUserv has limited support during the
Christmas Holidays and New Year.

During the holidays the EUserv standard telephone support is not available
on the following days:

- 2015/12/24
- 2015/12/25
- 2015/12/26
- 2015/12/31
- 2016/01/01

Should there be any support requests during this time please create an
support ticket in the EUserv customer panel.
Customers with optional booked support SLAs are not affected by the limited
phone support.
