1) Server News: Software Raid 5 available in Install-System "v2"


The successful launch of install-system "v2" for dedicated servers will now be followed by enhancements.

After the "VNC" installations, CentOS 6.9 is now offered as the first operating system, which can be provided by default with Software Raid 5 via the install-system "v2".
During next months, additional operating systems will be provided with Software Raid 5. Thereby also younger operating systems such as Debian 8 + 9, CentOS 7 or Ubuntu 16.04 will be provided.

Please note:
------------
Software Raid 5 creates an unformatted partition (usually /dev/md2).


To use Raid 5 at least 3 harddisks or SSDs are required to be installed on your server.


Compatible servers are currently:
---------------------------------
* Filer M2 v4
* Filer L v4
* Filer XL v4
* Filer XXL v4
* Pro64 Flex, depending on HDD equippment
* SMP-Server, depending on HDD equippment


Servers including hardware raid controllers are not supported because it is a pure software raid.

In customer panel or in the EUserv Android App the Raid5 operating systems are only displayed if they are supported by hard disk configuration.

2) Tips for practise #1: How to create a backup with Linux Rescue System


The helpful function Rescue System enables you connecting to your server, for example if an operating system installation is not successful or if the server is not accessible via the usual way. After started rescue mode, you can perform a backup of your user and configuration settings.

3) Tips for practise #2: Avoid delayed payment and quarantine by
using SEPA direct debit or current account option


Contracts with automatic renewal are always invoiced in advance at the beginning of the month of the new accounting period. To avoid late payments and quarantine, EUserv offers different payment methods.

Customers situated in the EU can use the SEPA direct debit system. Simply enter your bank details in the customer center and from this day on, new invoices will be automatically debited from your bank account when due.

Customers who do not participate in the direct debit process EUserv also offers the option of a current/credit account. You can pay an arbitrary amount to your EUserv customer account via bank transfer or via PayPal, by entering your customer number in the first application line. Due invoices are automatically deducted from the balance of your customer account. Thus, longer leave periods or illness-related absence can be conveniently covered and you avoid that services are not paid during a longer absence phase.

4) Support Notes: Request for domain owner validation


Our Support-Team regularly receives inquiries from customers who have received an email from the sender COREnic or COREhub and are asked to confirm domain holder validation.

The company "COREnic" is one of our registration partners for domain names and due to the ICANN guideline it is obligatory to regularly check the correctness of the owner data of registered domains and to validate the data stored in the handles, especially the Email address of the domain name.

If you'll received such an Email or have already received it, we ask you to carefully check it and to carry out the validation as advised in the Email. If corrections or updates are necessary, please log in to EUserv customer panel.
